Ipswitch, Inc. File Transfer division, the leading developer of comprehensive secure and managed file transfer solutions, today introduced MOVEit Central Enterprise 7.0, the most secure and compliant file transfer workflow engine available, now with even greater automation and platform support.
Ipswitch’s MOVEit Central Enterprise manages enterprise-sized workflow tasks with leading enterprise-class security. It enables IT staff to easily automate, secure and streamline thousands of complex and logical data workflows, as well as business processes. MOVEit Central Enterprise automatically “pulls, processes and pushes” files among all platforms, network architectures, operating systems and protocols. This launch boasts:
- Built-in end-to-end encryption, non-repudiation and FIPS 140-2 validated cryptography
- “Click together” automation of thousands of simultaneous logical, event-driven, scheduled or on-demand workflow tasks
- Scalable architecture supporting high availability with automatic built-in failover
- Extensive reporting utilizing a cryptographic tamper-evident database
Expanding on the new features above, MOVEit Central delivers advanced security, automation and flexibility, without the price tag you’d expect from an enterprise-class workflow solution. Advanced features included in MOVEit Central Enterprise 7.0 include:
Advanced Business Process with Conditional Logic
IT users can specify the exact order of steps in a task and control them with conditional and looping control structures. Advanced tasks with conditional logic provides power and control similar to a programming language, with the ease of use of a graphical configuration utility. This feature also includes the ability to re-order elements in a logical task and to automatically convert traditional tasks to advanced logical tasks, reducing the need to chain multiple tasks.
Administrators can schedule advanced logical tasks to run based on the conditions they set. Integrated multi-step tasks are easily created by building customized logic into business processes and workflows. Also include business rules such as workflow creation with logical conditions, such as “if, then, and, or, else” variables.
“IT Management is being pushed to do more with less and to automate highly auditable business processes and policies and the new Advanced Tasks allows you to do that. As one of the most requested features from our customers, companies can now use a graphical interface to implement business process workflows,” said Kevin Gillis, vice president Product Management, Ipswitch File Transfer division.
Enhanced Virtualization
Support for virtual servers running on Microsoft Hyper-V is now available, in addition to support for servers running on VMware ESX. MOVEit Central Enterprise now runs on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 in addition to Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, and Microsoft Windows XP.
“Administrators can run MOVEit Central Enterprise products in a virtualized environment, reducing hardware costs and increasing manageability,” said Gillis.
MOVEit Central Enterprise also includes these new and enhanced capabilities:
- Alternate Host permits a file transfer to be automatically delivered to a designated secondary host if the primary host is unavailable.
- Clone a Host authorizes the following host types: MOVEit DMZ, FTP, SSH, SMTP, POP3, AS1, AS2 and AS3.
- Enhanced UNC Path Support allows administrators to enter a UNC path in a file destination, and MOVEit Central will automatically map to an existing host source or destination.
- API Element Management enables the management of configuration items and task elements, including the creating of new items and the checking out and modifying of existing items.
