The Future of Virtualization at the Virtualization Conference and Expo
David Bieneman's Virtualization Session at the Virtualization Conference and Expo, June 23-24, in New York City

Digg This!

As virtualization platform vendors strengthen and expand the feature sets of their respective offerings, it is almost a certainty that the data center in the future will include a heterogeneous mix of virtualization platforms as well as physical platforms. For organizations that are moving to virtualization, choosing the correct platform for their needs is only the start. For certain, organizations also will need to obtain a set of virtualization utilities to assist in moving to, and managing one or more virtual platforms in their data centers. These utilities must not simply be “repurposed” tools from the physical world but should also be specifically designed to leverage the efficiencies and unique characteristics of the virtual platform.

Virtualization utilities will be required for converting P2V, V2V, monitoring and optimizing performance of VMs, enabling backup and disaster recovery strategies and reducing the costs of backup storage. The solutions needed to perform these tasks must not only be feature-rich and easy-to-use, they must also be multi-platform in order to support efficiencies in the data center and promote the highest ROI for virtualization projects.

Speaker Bio: David Bieneman launched Vizioncore Inc. in 2002 as a software development company focused on enhancing Citrix Systems. With more than a decade experience working within client and virtualization technologies, David leads a talented team of technology professionals through consulting engagements and product development that has solidified Vizioncore’s reputation for excellence. In early 2004, David recognized that a gap existed in the burgeoning virtualization industry for a suite of software tools to support and enhance VMware ESX Server. This led to the development of vRanger (formerly esxRanger) to handle hot backups and recovery of virtual machines. Today, Vizioncore has set the standard for image back-ups and disaster recovery in the virtualization user community. David stays active in architecting new technologies to complement existing Vizioncore solutions and enjoys engaging the user community as a presenter on a range of topics including disaster recovery, business continuity and high availability strategies for the virtual environment.

IDC has stated that the virtualization services market alone is going to reach $11.7 billion by 2011 and in general this technology, which has been around for a good number of years, seems suddenly to be on everyone's mind.

In short, Virtualization is fast becoming a key requirement for every server in the data center, enabling increased workloads in server consolidation projects, efficient software development and testing, resource management for dynamic data centers, application re-hosting and compatibility, and high-availability partitions.

Help with that transformation: submit your speaking proposal today.

Topics will include:

  • Server Virtualization
  • Desktop Virtualization
  • File Virtualization
