VirtualLogix Recognized for Its Embedded Virtualization Solutions
Eg3.com Survey Finds VirtualLogix the Most Recognized and Respected in Embedded Virtualization

Digg This!

VirtualLogix has been recognized as the leading embedded virtualization supplier, by a more than two to one margin, in a survey conducted by the industry publication eg3.com. Featured as part of eg3’s “Insiders’ Guide: Embedded Opportunities,” VirtualLogix was recognized for spearheading the movement that is expanding virtualization out of the data center and into mobile devices and consumer electronics.

In the survey, other than VMware and its data center-specific technology, VirtualLogix was identified by more than 500 members of the embedded community as number one in the following categories:

  • Company Recognition: Nearly 50 percent more respondents recognized VirtualLogix over other embedded companies
  • Technology Leadership: VirtualLogix was identified, with a margin of 40 percent more than nearest competitor, as a virtualization “technology leader”

“The virtualization market was first established in data centers and is now unlocking opportunities for the embedded market,” said Jason McDonald, senior editor of eg3.com. “The eg3.com survey uncovered tremendous insight into the embedded community, notably with 78 percent of the survey participants either already using, or planning to incorporate virtualization in their embedded device designs. VirtualLogix has emerged as the front runner for this new market. Our readers are some of the most informed professionals in the embedded realm and their belief in VirtualLogix’s leadership is a tremendous endorsement for the company.”

The survey reveals virtualization is top of mind in the embedded community and could spearhead a revolution for electronic design. While VMware scored high in recognition and perceived leadership in embedded virtualization, “Virtualization is a very new area in the embedded realm; VMware’s high score is probably due to its great press after last year's IPO not because it was especially relevant to the embedded market. Virtualization has become mainstream in data centers, but VirtualLogix’s virtualization technology is being deployed in the “front-end” device market and running alongside the virtualized, back-end datacenter.”

“With our VLX solutions, VirtualLogix is at the forefront of the next wave of virtualization meeting the technology demands of feature-rich applications for the next generation of mobile devices,” said Peter Richards, CEO of VirtualLogix. “Virtualization is changing the economics of the electronics industry—by reducing product development costs, power consumption and allowing software to run more efficiently. This survey underscores both the momentum behind embedded virtualization as well as our leadership within this expanding market that is bringing the technology out of back-end data centers and into the connected, mobile world.”
