Liquid Computing CTO to Present at SYS-CON's 4th International Virtualization Conference & Expo
Mike Kemp will speak on how the wave of virtualization technology in the data center can be extended beyond hypervisors
May. 29, 2008 02:30 PM
The wave of virtualization technology in the data center can be extended beyond hypervisors to embrace complete IT infrastructure management resulting in significant business value. That, in a nutshell, is the viewpoint of Mike Kemp, the CTO and co-founder of Liquid Computing. Kemp will be giving a session at SYS-CON's 4th International Virtualization Conference & Expo in November entitled "Beyond Hypervisors to Complete IT Infrastructure Management."
Kemp will commence by summarizing the fundamental problems that are holding back scale, flexibility and asset utilization in the data center, and then describe an innovative approach to data center optimization that addresses the fundamental problems through virtualization of the complete IT infrastructure.
"This approach delivers 'Services Oriented IT Infrastructure' (SOI) that can be fully exploited by evolving management systems to enable service providers and enterprises to more efficiently deliver service differentiation, business continuity, disaster recovery and opex reduction," says Kemp, who holds a joint honors degree in the disciplines of electrical engineering and computing science from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom, and has over 24 years of practical industry experience building large scale computer systems with Nortel and DARPA.

Virtualization is becoming an increasingly important concept, not only to IT staffs, but to CIOs and line-of-business managers as well. It is quickly being deployed in server, storage, networking, as well as client environments.
"Deploying Virtualization in the Enterprise" is the conference theme of SYS-CON's 4th International Virtualization Conference & Expo.. The Call for Papers, which is now open, welcomes submissions from exceptional speakers with high-quality use cases not only of how virtualization maximizes the use of resources and thus saves companies money, but also of how it is fundamentally altering the way that businesses run IT.
